2009 Community Service
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
OmniAmerican Bank is a proud community sponsor of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. On July 10, “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” traveled to Lancaster, to meet Carlton Marshall, who lost most of his mobility and all of his hearing after being shot while leading a Dallas Police Department SWAT team.

Junior Achievement
Junior Achievement of the Chisholm Trail is a youth development organization that serves Texas children in Tarrant, Parker, Johnson, Wise, and Erath counties. Junior Achievement provides hands-on classroom instruction focusing on work and college readiness, financial literacy and drop-out prevention. OmniAmerican Bank supports Junior Achievement through volunteering to teach financial literacy programs at local elementary schools and through the annual Bowlathon.
Bowlathon - OmniAmerican Bank has been participating in the JA Bowlathon since 2005. Each year, employees of OmniAmerican Bank gather for a day of fun and to raise money for JA’s educational programs.
National Teach Children to Save Day
For the third consecutive year, Rocky Raccoon and volunteers from OmniAmerican Bank visited with over 600 students from a Fort Worth elementary school to celebrate Teach Children to Save Day 2009.

United Way
OmniAmerican Bank’s 2009 “Who CAN? You CAN. We CAN. OmniAmeriCAN” campaign, benefiting the United Way, was an enormous success. From May 4 through May 15, OmniAmerican employees showed their generosity by making personal payroll donations totaling almost $30,000. Employees and customers also teamed up to donate and collecting over 8,640 non-perishable food items!
American Lung Association - Breathe Walk
With a record 20 teams and 123 registered walkers, OmniAmerican Bank raised an outstanding $13,000 for the American Lung Association’s annual 5K Breathe Walk!
Challenge Air for Kids and Friends
On March 7, several OmniAmerican volunteers went out to MavAir located at Meacham Airport in support of Challenge Air for Kids and Friends. With dedication and help, over 80 physically and mentally challenged children and their families were able to take to the sky.
Voluntary Income Tax Assistance Program
OmniAmerican sponsored the Voluntary Income Tax Assistance program designed to help low- and moderate-income residents with their tax returns. |
